Who and what can donate?
Here are some common formulas by which our supporters donate to Refugiul Maidanezilor.
Of course, we are absolutely open to any other ideas as suggestions 🙂
Donate food
Food for the animals housed here is one of the main expenses of the shelter.
Therefore, food donations are welcome:
- standard food for puppies or healthy adults:
- special food for old or sick dogs;
- meat and vegetables, for residents with special diets.
Anyone wishing to donate food is welcome to bring it directly to the refuge; they can also ask for a volunteer to go to their address to pick up the donation.

Remote adoption
This is a sort of long-term donation. The supporter can choose one of the animals cared for by us (which are not already adopted) and can send us the amount of 100 lei per month. This will provide us a dependable income to partially cover expenses related to treating, feeding and careing for one of our tenants.
Any adoption is welcome, no matter how short, but to help us plan ahead we encourage adoptions for at least one year.
Partnerships
Refugiul Maidanezilor also counts on the support received from companies. Our partners support us by:
- redirecting up to 20% of the profit tax (option for Romanian tax-paying companies);
- financial sponsorship or in the form of services or products;
- carrying out volunteer activities;
- carrying out activities to encourage adoptions or to raise funds.
